When used with the Panasonic 8mm dual-track feeder, the CM Leaderless Feeder Finger offers unique features and advantages that can increase production capacity by up to 150%. It achieves this by reducing feeder setup and changeover time. The operator can load tape strips as short as 1 inch (25.4mm) or an entire reel by simply pushing the tape into the feeder and placing it onto the pick and place or feeder cart. Unlike before, there is no need for a tape leader; It utilizes a plow blade design to fold and crease the cover tape flat as it travels through the feeder. Additionally, the cover tape collection process is eliminated, which helps reduce feeder jams and significantly lowers feeder maintenance costs.
